Last night we walked up the street and stopped at Augustine Grill. This is a typical German Beer Hall. When we entered, they wanted to seat us right in the traffic lane and we asked for another table. So they took us up front and sat us at a table for 4 where there were already two other people. So we introduced ourselves and it comes to find out that they are Americans from Green Bay, Wisconsin. So we had an enjoyable time chatting away about travel, Wisconsin, football, sailing, and operations. And the food was good too. We must have sat there for over two hours. In most of Europe, when you sit down for dinner, the table is yours for the entire evening if you want. They only give you the check when you ask for it. No hurry. So this was the case last night.
Walked back to the hotel and I tried to print out tickets for the QM2 but have not been able to do it yet. I will talk to the business center in the morning. Must be a way to do this.
When I got up to the room I decided to try and print the documents. Well it looks like it went through. Will print them in the morning.
Now it is morning and we need to pack up and go to the train station. Will stop at business center on the way to breakfast. A gentleman assisted us and we were able to print our e tickets for the QM2. That is such a relief.
Breakfast in the dining room. I only had green tea, grapefruit, and pastry. Bob had a nice omelet along with mushrooms and chicken wings. We have never had wings for breakfast before but they are quite good.
We are all packed up and ready to go. The train leaves at 10:16am and we arrive in Hamburg around 4pm. We have seats so no worry. Just that we have to lug all this luggage for the last time. I now know that I packed too many clothes and too much jewelry. So in the future, I promise to be better.
I will post this now and then tell about the train ride and Hamburg later.
