Budapest Day Three

Bob got up very early so he went to the lounge for coffee and to work on the pictures while I continued to sleep.  I got up and went to get him and have a cup of tea.  Now waiting for breakfast to open.

Today we will tour on our own again.  Yesterday we went to an ATM to get some local money.  Hungary is in the European Union but can not use the Euro yet.  So we got some of their funny money.  One dollar is equal to 227 of their money.  So I did not know how much I was getting.  So today we need to spend it all.

Most of the passengers will take the city tour.  Since we did it on Sunday, we will not.

The passengers this cruise are a mix.  They are three large groups this time plus most of us that are on our own.  One group is from Venezuela.   They are kind of noisy.  And they are having a special tour group for them that speaks Spanish.

Breakfast we sat with Lillian and Marilyn from Canada.  They are sisters.  One lives in Ottawa and the other lives in Victoria.  So once a year they do a sister trip.  No husbands.

Bob not quite up to par so we are late in going to the market.  We have this money to spend, so we bought some trinkets and had lunch at the market.  It is probably the cleanest market we have visited.

The exterior of the market.

Beautiful fruits and vegetables for sale.

And all kinds of meats.  Every part of the chicken you can think of.

And all types of pickles.

We stopped at the restaurant and had lunch.

We shared this dish.  Love the noodles.

View of the food market from the second floor.   On the first floor is food and on the second floor are food courts and souvenirs.

While walking back to the boat, we saw the Rock Chapel.  We did not have time to visit it as it was on the other side of the river and we would have had to walk across the bridge and I do not do that if I can help it.

The Rock Chapel.

Back to the ship and our nap.  Then up for coffee and tea where we sat with Bob and Brenda from last night's dinner.  We tried to make reservations for dinner at the second restaurant but they are completely filled.  Not sure how that happens as there are 161 passengers and 198 seats, when you multiply the seats times the days, but at any rate, we ate there three times last cruise so no big deal.

Dressed for dinner.  To the lounge for a cocktail before dinner.  Had an Old Fashioned and Bob had his martini.  Ate with Bob and Brenda as Trink and John were eating upstairs.  Good food and conversation.

Back to the cabin and lights out.
