Rio Grande, Brazil

It is Friday and we are docked in Rio Grande, Brazil.  This is the first of many stops here in Brazil.  Not much to see here.  We got up and headed to the pool at 6am.  They were just opening it and the waves were really making the pool water like the ocean.  This is fun but harder to exercise.  Bonnie joined us but David did not feel comfortable so he left.  We exercised for one hour and then cleaned up for breakfast on the aft deck.  We had cancelled our shore excursion and were going to take the shuttle into the town but on further examination, decided to stay on the ship.
Lots of John Deere tractors on the dock.  I thought Aiden would like this picture.

Went to the Coffee Connection while the cabin was being cleaned and then I headed up to the Observation Lounge with my needlepoint friends.  I stayed up there for two hours talking and sewing. We did go out to watch the local dancers on the pier.

The weather remained hot and humid.  This morning when Bob was putting our exercise equipment out on the deck, the alarm went off in our cabin.  We called reception to report we were fine but the alarm was ringing, she said it was because of the humidy and would turn off shortly.  It did.  But we probably woke everyone up.

I returned to the cabin and finished the crossword puzzle and then Bob and I went to the pool grill for an early lunch as our plan was to take the shuttle.  He changed his mind and I agreed.  Now catching up on blog and email.

After Bob's nap, we headed for a coffee and then I attended the lecture by Terry.  This one was on the apartment she had bought in Montevideo.  She is in the process of making it livable as it is not now.  Needed everything.  Then to needlepoint and tea and stay for trivia.  We are so bad it is not funny but we have fun.

They had a special concert before dinner for the Seven Seas Society members in long standing.  It featured Agata Sava, an acclaimed mezzo-soprano and her husband, Woytek Mrozek on the clarinet.  Plus their 8 year old son played one piece on the violin.  What a talented family!  Dinner in Compass Rose.  Bob had the pasta and I had the beef.  Then back to the cabin to catch up on the news and bed.
