Fortaleza, Brazil

We were docked here in Fortaleza overnight.  We did not get off the ship last night.  So this morning the pool is quiet.  No waves.  We exercised for one hour along with Bonnie and David.  Bert came in as we were leaving.  Bert ties himself to the ladder and swims for a half hour.  He cannot do it if the water is rough.  It will break his line.

We had breakfast on the aft deck.  I enjoy it out there but today it was quite windy.  We had cancelled the tour we were going to take and now we will take the shuttle into town and try and do some shopping.  I have ruined another bathing suit.  This water is a killer on the fabrics.   Need to find a polyester one as they are like hard to ruin.

We took the shuttle into the town and they dropped us at a market.  No stores but stalls with vendors selling everything from nuts to shoes and some bathing suits.  I stopped at one stall and asked about the bathing suits but they did not speak English and The size was GG.  Have no idea how big and no place to try it on so I passed on the suit.  Might try again Manaus.  

We returned to the ship and had a nice lunch in La Veranda.  Then back to the cabin to read.  I finished my book.  The afternoon was the usual with needlepoint, tea and trivia.  We did not win again.


Dressed for dinner. Tonight we ate in Signatures.  We had a nice table for two by the window.  I had the lamb chops and they were tiny.  Good but way too small.  After dinner they brought in a dessert with one candle in it and sang to us.  


We returned to the cabin to find it decorated by Ronalyn and Anu.
