Rounding the Horn

Saturday was a day spent at sea.  Bob woke up early and put a load of clothes in the washer at 5am.  At 6am I transferred them to the dryer and by 7am they were washed, dried, folded and put away.  Wow.  We ate a light breakfast in La Veranda and then returned to the cabin where Ronalyn was working.  So we headed to the Coffee Connection and our cappuccino's.  We read the Washington Post and caught up on the comics.  We get USA Today but not on the weekends and they do not have comics.  But great puzzles which we do together.

I went up to the Observation Lounge and it was crowded.  Found a table by the door which was a mistake as we are sailing the avenue of the glaciers and people come in and out of the door and sometimes leave the door open.  To say it is cold is an understatement.  Not only cold but windy.  At any rate, the scenery was beautiful.  But then it started to hail and the floor all around us got covered with hail.  The Captain asked for the passengers to stay inside, but you know folks, they do what they want.  All this time, Bob stayed in the cabin working on his log so no pictures.  But as he said, you have seen one glacier, you have seen them all.  Not much difference between them.

Lunch in La Veranda.  Today they were having a curry lunch.  Bob said it was good but spicy.  I had a salad and soup.  Back to take a nap for Bob and needlepoint for me.  We went up to the pool to do our exercises and the winds started to kick up.  I lasted about 50 minutes and then I quit.  Bob did the entire hour.  Good for him.  Then I headed to the needlepoint gathering.  Had tea but no goodies and then stayed for trivia.  I was joined by Joan and two ladies from Redding, PA.  Ginger and Carol.  We did not win but was fun anyway.

Now we are rounding the horn.  I went up to the Observation Lounge where I bumped into Bob who was up taking pictures.  The weather is really windy still so I stayed inside.  Several people braved the winds including Bob.  But we made it round the horn.  This is our second time around.  This time the weather is much clearer so we have some good pictures to share.

Cleaned up for dinner in Compass Rose where I had the fish as did Bob. Dinner was good.  After dinner we returned to the cabin and watched "The Cowboy and Aliens"  which was a stupid movie but we made it to the end.   Then lights out.
