Dinner with Olga

On the last leg of this cruise, Bob and I won the right to take two crew members to dinner in Compass Rose.  We decided to only take Olga.  Olga is a waitress and from the Ukraine.  She is not the prettiest or the most popular but she is a hard worker and we felt it necessary to reward her efforts.

When we went to meet Olga, she was standing with the Captain and his wife.  A nice thing so that she did not have to stand alone.  We were on time but I think Olga did not want to be late.

We were given a nice table for four.  Olga looked very nice that night.  Her hair was down.  When they work, they must wear their hair up and off their shoulders.  So it was nice to see her relaxed.

We found out that she has a son who is 16 and lives with her mother.  Her ex-husband does take care of the son some of the time.  So she was leaving when we got to Dubai and will be off for two months.

We had a very nice dinner.  Olga is really a nice gal.  And she became the hit of the other ladies.  We were happy to be a part of this experience for her.
