Today, Thursday March 13th, we are still in Shanghai. But today the weather is sunny and clear. No shore excursions as we were not scheduled to be here. But they are running a shuttle to the Bund which we took later in the morning.
We walked around the city for about one hour but did not shop. We were on the expensive street and I can do that type of shopping at home. We did walk down one street that was filled with motorcycle parts. Every store was selling all types of parts. It is funny how the entire street is only one kind of shop. No variety.
Back to the ship for lunch and then a nap. We swam at some time but I can't remember if it was in the morning or afternoon.
Then needlepoint and tea.
Dinner was in Signatures. We had a nice table by the window. Dinner was good. I had the duck and Bob had lamb.
We finally left Shanghai at around 3 am.
Friday, March 14th we were at sea all day heading to Japan. When we reached the Japanese Waters, we had to turn off our satellite connection so no internet for two days. What a bummer.
The sea day was like the others except Bob and I did go swimming. The water was rather sloshy. You have to work pretty hard to stay above the water and not get slammed into the sides of the pool. But we had them heat the pool so at least the water was warm. So we got a great work out.
I had needlepoint in the morning and the afternoon. I got a pillow cover to work on since I still have two months on board the ship.
Today we had lunch with Ngaire and Ken. Ngaire is the owner of Brown and Keene Travel Agency. This is the agency we now use. She is escorting a group on this leg and tries to have dinner with everyone in the group. We were included in the group since we use Brown and Keene but she did not have any dinners left so we did lunch. It was a great lunch and nice conversation.
We had dinner in Compass Rose and then to the suite.
